TEMPO.CO, Jimbaran - The Communication and Informatics Ministry’s secretary general Mira Tayyiba – who holds the position of Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) G20 Chairperson, on Tuesday said cybersecurity has not become a mandate in the digital economy working group.
“But I agree that this matter must involve many stakeholders and public literacy. We also already have the Personal Data Protection Law,” she said at a meeting of the national media chief editors in Jimbaran Bali, Tuesday, November 15.
She maintained that the general public must also have awareness and caution in terms of digital interactions. "You can't just give unnecessary data."
In the DEWG G20 Presidency held from March to November this year, there are three main issues discussed, namely connectivity and post Covid-19 recovery; digital skills, digital literacy, and data-free flow with trust; and cross-border data flows.
The Digital Economy Minister's Meeting (DEMM) produced a Chair's Summary which explained the progress of the discussions that took place at the DEWG, the agreement on the discussion of 3 priority issues, and the views of member countries on the geopolitical situation.
DEMM was attended by 29 delegates consisting of all members of the G20, 5 invited countries, and 4 international organizations.
