TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov was taken to the hospital after arriving in Bali for the G20 summit, the Associated Press reported on Monday, November 14, citing Indonesian officials.
Lavrov, who is in Indonesia to represent President Vladimir Putin at the summit, arrived in Bali on Sunday.
AP reported that Mr. Lavrov was being treated for a heart condition, citing several sources. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry dismissed the reports, saying they were baseless.
"This, of course, is the height of fakery," the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry has not released a statement about the reports. In July, Sergei Lavrov attended the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting in Bali.
