Jokowi and Sons Host Meal for UAE President MBZ in Solo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo along with Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, and Kaesang Pangarep would have a meal with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at Jokowi's private house in Solo, Central Java.
“After the mosque inauguration ceremony, President Jokowi and MBZ will head to President Jokowi's private residence in Sumber Village, Surakarta to have breakfast together. President Jokowi was accompanied by Gibran, Bobby, and Kaesang,” as read in a statement received by Tempo on Monday, November 14, 2022.
The inauguration ceremony of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was held this morning. The two leaders also planted Salak trees in the mosque's yard.
Located in Gilingan of Solo, the grand mosque is one of the most luxurious mosques in the archipelago. The construction of the 8,000 square meters structure cost more than Rp300 billion. The mosque has a VIP room, library, and basement.
The construction of the mosque commenced on March 6, 2021. According to the Instagram page of the mosque’s developer Waskita Karya, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has 82 Moroccan-style domes decorated with white marble.
Its floors and walls are embellished with Italian marble. The courtyard’s shape is similar to the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore City, Pakistan, which is rich in the Mughal style.
