TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali will be welcoming delegates from the G20 Countries for the upcoming conference on 15-16 November 2022. The International summit is expected to be attended by 38 world leaders and 60 ministers from countries of the G20 members.
It is estimated that about 6,500 participants from 20 countries will be attending the event. This will certainly increase the number of potential tourists in Bali, especially in Badung, which turns out to have several tourist locations to welcome the G20 delegation.
Here is the list of the top four destinations in the Badung area:
1. Pasifika Museum, South Kuta
The G20 Summit in Bali will include several side events which are divided into 11 working groups. One of the venues used for the side event is the Pasifika Museum in South Kuta.
The museum is a nice place to visit for those who have an interest in educational tourism. Known as the largest art museum in the Asia Pacific, Pasifika Museum displays more than 600 artworks from 200 artists from 25 countries. Not only does it consist of historical values, but visitors can also receive insight into art and culture through cultural artifacts from the Asia Pacific that are being displayed, including the cultural diversity of Indonesia.
2. Garuda Wisnu Kencana, South Kuta
One of the popular tourist attractions in Bali, Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, will be one of the venues for the G20 Summit delegations to have dinner. The tourist spot which has a statue by the artist I Nyoman Nuarta will be visited during the conference on November 15-16.
Citing from the official website of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, the GWK statue depicts Lord Vishnu riding an eagle. In Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu is considered the protector of the universe. He is accompanied by an eagle which symbolizes loyalty and devotion. Meanwhile, Kencana means gold, and both are decorated with gold mosaic crowns.
The statue by I Nyoman Nuarta is known as one of the tallest statues in the world. In addition, the location will hold cultural performances such as the Kecak dance and traditional Balinese dances at the GWK Amphi theatre. Then, visitors can also visit Lotus Pond, Indraloka Garden, and Tirtha Agung as good photo spots.
