TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The room occupancy rate for star hotels in Indonesia is still increasing as of September 2022. According to statistics agency BPS, the increase was attributable to meeting events such as the G20 Summit in Bali, as well as the graduation ceremonies of several universities.
The BPS announced that the hotel occupancy rate in September 2022 was 50.02 percent, up by 2.64 points from August and 13.38 points from September 2021.
BPS' deputy for distribution and service statistics, Setianto, said that the average stay period of hotel guests in September also increased in September 2022 to 1.64 compared to one year ago.
"Among factors of the occupancy rate increase is because star hotels were booked for meetings by service offices, local governments, as well as the G20 event in Bali and the graduation ceremonies of several universities," Setianto said in a press conference, Tuesday, November 1.
He said that the highest increase in occupancy rate was recorded in Bali with 36.99 points to 46.45 percent (year-on-year/yoy), followed by Riau Islands with 18.64 points to 42.61 percent, Banten, and East Java.
