Batik Air to Open Makassar - Kuala Lumpur Route Starting December 15

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Batik Air planned to open a new international route from Makassar, South Sulawesi via Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Maros (UPG) to Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL). The service will be available on December 15, 2022.
“The flight operations meet the elements of safety and security, as well as based on health protocols and follow the applicable provisions in each country,” said Batik Air spokesperson Danang Mandala Prihantoro in a written statement quoted Monday, October 31, 2022.
The new route from Makassar to Kuala Lumpur will be with flight number ID-7361 departing at 10:55 central Indonesian time (WITA) and arriving at 14:00 Kuala Lumpur time. Meanwhile, the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Makassar, flight ID-7630, is scheduled to depart at 14:50 Kuala Lumpur time and arrive at 18:00 WITA.
“The flight service will be available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday,” said Danang.
Batik Air, a part of Lion Air Group, will launch the Makassar - Kuala Lumpur route on December 15 iso as to commemorate International Aviation Day on December 7, 2022. This international route was expected to facilitate the mobility of people from and to eastern Indonesia and contribute to accelerating economic recovery in the Southeast Asian region.
