Garuda Indonesia Reopens Makassar-Denpasar Flights

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia has reopened flights between Makassar and Denpasar. The state airliner will have three roundtrip flights between the two cities per week every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting October 7.
Garuda Indonesia president director said passengers traveling between Makassar and Denpasar will be flying on board the Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft.
The Bali-bound flight is GA-621, taking off from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport at 18:30 and arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 20:05. The Makassar-bound flight isGA-620, which departs Denpasar at 20:50 to land at Hassanuddin Airport at 22:15.
In a written statement released on Wednesday, October 5, Irfan said that the reopening of this route is part of the airline's efforts to meet the public's needs for air transportation accessibility, as well as a step to develop Garuda's network through optimizing domestic market share opportunities.
"We also hope that the opening of the Makassar-Denpasar Round-trip flights can help maximize the tourism sector recovery by connecting two national leading tourist destinations, namely Makassar and Denpasar, through direct flight services," said Irfan.
The flights between Makassar and Denpasar are also one of Garuda Indonesia's efforts to support the G20 Summit that will be held in Denpasar this November.
