Bogor to Utilize Electric Vehicles as Official Govt Transport Next Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor City administration has prepared a budget of Rp1.8 billion to procure electric vehicles to be used as official government transportation, which comes in line with the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) concerning the electrification of government official vehicles.
The allocated budget will be spent to purchase two electric cars and five electric motorcycles. According to an Antaranews report, the plan has been passed by the local Regional Legislative Council (DPRD).
"This is the spirit of the central government implemented by local governments to reduce dependence on fossil fuel-based vehicles," said Bogor Administration regional secretary Syarfah Sofiah on Monday, October 3, 2022, Antaranews reported.
According to the regional secretary, the Bogor Administration hopes the electric vehicles would already be available by the end of this year but acknowledges that it would depend on the availability of the units from the manufacturers.
