Poll: 83.5 Percent Jakartans Satisfied with Anies Baswedan's Performance

29 September 2022 22:52 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe results of the latest telesurvey conducted by the United Data Center Institute (PDB) revealed that 83.8 percent of Jakarta residents are satisfied with the performance of Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Riza Patria.

“We find that 83.8 percent of respondents claim satisfaction and high satisfaction with the performance of Anies-Riza, and then only 16.1 percent state that they are not satisfied and highly dissatisfied with the performance of Anies-Riza,” said the PDB’s researcher Syariffudin when reading out the poll results in Tebet, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 29, 2022.

The survey was conducted on September 24-25, 2022, involving 400 respondents. Syarifuddin explained that they were selected by using a proportionate snowball sampling via mobile phone numbers. Its margin of error was approximately 5 percent with a 95 percent confidence level.

Syarifuddin explained that Jakartans are mostly satisfied with the city leaders’ work in infrastructure development with a score of 37.5 percent. “Then followed by urban governance at 20.3 percent and public transportation service at 11.3 percent.”

“Jakarta is one of the cities that has an integrated public transport network compared to other big cities,” he added.

Anies Baswedan and Riza's terms of office will end on October 16, 2022. Syarifuddin mentioned that the survey also found several urgent issues faced by residents that must be resolved by the acting governor as Anies' replacement.

“Economic problems are considered the most urgent by respondents up to 49.8 percent,” he said, adding that it is followed by congestion at 20 percent and politics at 6.8 percent.
