TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will immediately send a third summons to Papua Governor Lukas Enembe for the alleged bribery case. “We will send another summons [to him] as a suspect,” said the KPK head of News, Ali Fikri, on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
However, he stopped short of mentioning the date. “Regarding the time of the summons, we will provide further information,” he said.
The anti-graft body hoped that Enembe will fulfill the call. “Hopefully, in this second opportunity, the suspect can cooperate in attending the summons,” Ali added.
When asked about Enembe's request for permission to visit Singapore for health treatment, the KPK ordered the governor to first attend the KPK's building in Jakarta for questioning. “For objectivity, we’ll conduct a direct assessment by an independent team of doctors from IDI (Indonesian Medical Association).”
The KPK summoned Enembe as a suspect on Monday, September 26, 2022. The governor who had been named a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the regional projects missed the call due to illness.
The KPK did not officially announce the suspect status of Lukas Enembe. Such an announcement will be conducted when there is forced arrest or detainment of the suspect.
