TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo assesses that currently Indonesia is facing difficult global economic challenges as developed countries face problems such as food security, energy crisis, and financial turmoil.
Even so, there is always a way to overcome every problem. "What we are facing is not easy, it is not easy, but we must remain optimistic," said Jokowi, Thursday, September 29, Antaranews reported.
Jokowi said that Indonesia's condition was quite positive as he believes the economic growth was recorded as the highest among G20 countries and regions. This indicates that the recovery in the country is ongoing.
"So if I was asked to estimate [the situation], the second quarter could grow 5.44 percent (year on year) try looking for G20 countries that grew above five percent. We are the highest in the G20," said President Jokowi, who encouraged everyone to remain optimistic to continue the trend of national economic recovery.
