TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) is investigating four cases of robot trading scams that cost victims up to Rp25 billion. The robot trading platforms are Mark AI, Auto Trade Gold, Net89, EA Copet.
"We are at a stage of determining the suspects," Brig. Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan, the National Police's head of Public Information, said in an official statement, Wednesday, September 28.
Ramadhan said that the investors placed Rp500,000 to Rp9 billion in the robot trading platforms and were promised returns of 1.3 to 1.5 percent daily. But until October 15, 2021, they never received the return.
"The victims received information that they were unable to withdraw the profit and were promised that the system would go back to normal on October 18, 2021. However, until today, they have not been able to withdraw the profits," said Ramadhan.
The police are still investigating this case, but no one has been named as a suspect.
To date, Bareskrim has handled 10 cases of robot trading, of which six are in the second phase of investigation with P21 status, meaning that the forms notifying that the investigation results have been completed had been issued.
"The cases that are already at P21 and stage two are Binomo, Viral Blast Global, EPS Binary Option, Evotrade, Fahrenheit, and DNA Pro Akademi," Ramadhan said.
