TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe weather in Bandung has been sunny for almost a week. A weather forecaster from Bandung City Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Yan Firdaus Permadhi, said this is attributable to the emergence of a super typhoon or Noru tropical cyclone.

“Because it is quite strong, the humidity and the growth of high clouds are disrupted by the low-pressure center at the center of typhoon Noru,” Yan explained on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Some residents complained about the hot weather at midday. According to Yan, the maximum temperature in the region for the past week ranged from 30.4 to 32.3 degrees Celsius. “The minimum temperature is between 19-20.4 degrees,” he added.

Meanwhile, the humidity is around 38-58 percent. This condition, he informed, was expected to last for the next few days.

“Based on existing predictions, it will return to normal on September 30 or early October,” Yan said, adding that the rainy season in Bandung will likely start in early October.

This condition is different in other areas of West Java, such as Bogor. “The western part of West Java remains wetter,” he said.

The BMKG earlier reported that tropical cyclone Noru was observed in eastern Vietnam, moving away from Indonesian territory.
