TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan in Jakarta recalled his visit to the United States where he met with economic experts, who he claims, had commended Indonesia’s economy. He also noted that other parts of the world see Indonesia as an emerging superpower.
“The world sees Indonesia as a new superpower. They mentioned this in numerous meetings in the United States and other places, they say Indonesia is a mini superpower that can progress forward,” said the Minister in Central Jakarta’s Sarinah on September 27.
“We are one of the countries in the world today with a pretty good economy. And I just came from America two days ago, they gave an appreciation of our economic outlook," he added.
According to Luhut, this is only thanks to the leadership of President Joko Widodoi and the team in the government in taking good steps and strategies in terms of the economy. He said the community should be proud of it, and should not hesitate in facing the challenges ahead.
