21 September 2022 07:31 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe North Jakarta city government is set to hold a coastal festival dubbed Festival Pesona Wisata Pesisir 2022 in Pluit Reservoir areas this weekend.

“This coastal festival is one of the long historical agendas and started in 2009. The last time it was held was in 2018 in Ancol and will be held again in 2022 on Sunday,” said North Jakarta City Secretary Abdul Khalit on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

The festival will kick-start on Sunday, September 25, with a number of exciting activities, such as cleaning up the reservoir or Gerebek Lumpur, dragon boat attractions, exhibitions, kite competitions, booth decoration competitions, music entertainment, fashion shows, bazaars by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and others.

The festival will be the peak of the Jakarta Maritime Fest event which was held to empower the coastal areas every weekend of September 2022.

“All the potential of the coastal areas of North Jakarta will be presented to support the festive event on September 25,” said Khalit.

All of these events, according to him, are expected to be a momentum for the revival of community activities in the coastal areas of Jakarta and the Thousand Islands after the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of economy, sports, tourism, and culture.

“Because there are so many creations and recreations based on local wisdom in the coastal areas and the Thousand Islands to attract tourists to visit Jakarta,” he said.
