TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali Provincial Government is preparing lanes special for electric motorcycles in tourist destination areas, yet it has not specified which locations.
Bali chief of Manpower, Energy and Mineral Resource Department, Ida Bagus Ngurah Arda, confirmed the news. He said that the Transportation Department knows better where the exact locations are. "The plan to build [special] lanes for electric motorcycles to tourist destinations is true. The Transportation Agency knows better for the routes," he said as reported by Antara.
Arda further said that the plan to provide special lanes will increase the use of electric motorcycles in Bali. This will meet the vision of the local government in realizing clean air.
"We're also optimistic since there is no need to use fuel and it is environmentally friendly, there is no need to worry anymore and there is no need to think about it even though the fuel prices rise. It will be more economical, the maintenance and spare parts will be more simple compared to the conventional motorbike," he added.
He viewed it as the right reason for people to shift to electric vehicles in the near future. Considering the limited fuel sources and the prices keep rising.
"It'll be better if the public use vehicles that do not rely on fossil fuel energy. We use vehicles whose energy is sourced from renewable energy such as the electric motorcycles," Arda remarked.
