TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Investments Bahlil Lahadalia said that the government is highly motivated to accelerate infrastructure development and investments across five 'super priority' tourism sites, which include Borobudur, Lake Toba, Likupang, Mandalika, and Labuan Bajo.
The Minister asserts that the government does not intend to only rely on Bali as Indonesia's main tourist attraction, which explains why accelerative programs are introduced to the aforementioned super priority locations.
"We do not just want Bali but there must be other regions that are promoted," said Minister Bahlil in the Investment Forum event on Friday, September 9, 2022.
The Investment Minister claimed that Indonesia's economy is growing at a stable rate in almost every sector and exceeding other countries, especially G20 members. Bahlil said yhat inflation is still under control at below 5 percent.
"This economic structure creates a condition of political stability and security because when we talk about tourism, we are talking about security and comfort for visitors. We are sure that there are many places to go to in Indonesia," Bahlil explained.
During the same event, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has given his utmost attention to the development of these five super priority destinations and has ordered state ministers to maintain investor’s trust by pushing for the east of investing.
"Accelerate the process related to permits and provide investment incentives," said Luhut at the same event.
