Indonesia Celebrates 77th Independence Day; Police Reopen Roads after Ceremony

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The ceremony for the 77th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day at the Merdeka Palace ended at 12:00. The police have reopened the roads in the Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat area.
The attendees and people enthusiastic about joining the ceremony left the location near the National Monument, Central Jakarta, and around the state palace's Taman Pandang area.
Once the Presidential entourage left the Merdeka Palace, the police reopened Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.
The water barrier in the area was lifted at 11:55. The public can now use the road again after the temporary closure.
The cleaning service personnel also helped to clean out plastic trashes near the Palace's Taman Pandang.
The ceremony for the 77th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day at the Merdeka Palace ran and ended well. The people dispersed in an orderly manner.
