KPK Arrest Pemalang Regent and 34 People in Sting Operation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) acting spokesperson Ali Fikri announced that the anti-graft agency has arrested 34 people in a sting operation targeting Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung Wibowo.
The official positions of these people, Ali said, were the Regent, agency head, regional secretary, and other officials who work in the Pemalang Regency Government.
"So far, the number of people we secured is 34 people," said Fikri on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Ali also revealed that KPK had confiscated cash in the sting operation which is being kept as official evidence. "The amount of money continues to be clarified to those who are arrested," Ali said.
Ali said the KPK team was still asking for information and clarification from those arrested. According to Ali, this case is related to the case of buying and selling positions in Pemalang Regency.
"We will immediately announce the progress," said Ali.
The arrest operation for Mukti Agung Wibowo Cs was held from Thursday afternoon to evening, on August 11, 2022. The arrests were made in Jakarta and Pemalang.
