TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lawyer of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Arman Hanis, relayed his client’s message after the police examination at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters, Kelapa Dua, Depok, Thursday, August 11, 2022. The message is addressed to the Indonesian people and his colleagues at the National Police who are affected by his actions.
“Allow me, as a human being who cannot be freed from mistakes, to sincerely apologize profusely, especially to colleagues at the Police and their families, as well as the community,” said Arman reading Ferdy's message in a statement Thursday.
Ferdy admitted that he had provided false information and sparked a polemic in the murder case of his former subordinate Brigadier J at his official residence, on Jalan Saguling III, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. He said he would comply with any legal process currently underway and later in court.
“As the head of the family, what I do is pure with the intention to maintain and protect the honor and dignity of the family,” Ferdy said.
Ferdy also conveyed apologies to the police institution, in particular to Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, as well as to his colleagues. “Allow me to be responsible for all the actions I have done based on the applicable law,” said Arman quoting his client’s statement.
Ferdy Sambo underwent questioning from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday. Arman said his client had carried out the examination cooperatively and answered the investigator's questions completely according to his capacity.
