TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Plaza Mandiri building, which is the head office of state lender Bank Mandiri, caught fire in the early hours of Thursday, August 11, 2022. The management ensures that the banking operations are not disrupted.
Corporate Secretary Rudi Asaturridha explained the fire was suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit. However, the blaze was immediately under control.
“We ensure that the puff of smoke caused by the short circuit can be controlled quickly,” said Rudi in a written statement, Thursday.
The fire in the building located on Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, was quickly controlled as the fire hydrant system was functioning properly. Fire extinguishers from the South Jakarta Fire Department, he added, also acted quickly.
“The building's hydrant system has functioned well and the fire fighting team from the South Jakarta Fire Service also moved quickly,” Rudi said.
As the fire is under control, Rudi went on, Bank Mandiri's banking and finance operations are now back to normal. The fire that occurred on the first floor of Plaza Mandiri did not interfere with the bank's business conditions.
