Transjakarta Bus Real-Time Tracking Service Available via Google Maps

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned bus service provider PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) in tandem with a map and navigation app Google Maps introduced a real-time bus tracking service via the app’s feature Transit. 

As quoted from transjakarta.co.id, the feature was expected to help facilitate the mobility of bus users. To use this feature, people can install the Google Maps app on Android or iPhone. Google Maps Transit can also be accessed easily at maps.google.com.

Follow these steps to use the Transit feature:

1. Open Google Maps app on your smartphone.

2. Enter your travel destination then click the blue icon that represents public transportation (train or bus) in the lower right corner.

3. There will be options for travel routes. The bus will appear on the screen with a blue TransJakarta logo display along with the bus line number, travel time, and cost.

4. Click on the route you want and click on the location where you will wait for the bus.

5. An estimated time of the bus arrival will be on display.

6. If you want to track the bus position in real-time, press again on the bus selection column which shows the arrival time in green.

With this Transit feature, people can thus estimate the arrival time of Transjakarta bus better.
