Barely 50 Percent Vehicle Tax are Paid in West Java, Says Governor Ridwan Kamil

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil on Wednesday talked about the number of vehicles that have paid their taxes in the region he leads He said that not even 50 percent of vehicles registered in the region have had their taxes paid by their owners. 

According to the governor, there are only 11 million vehicles with taxes that are paid even though in total, the region has 23 million registered vehicles in operation. 

"Of the 23 million vehicles, only 11 million have paid taxes, meaning less than 50 percent, so we must continue to be advised," said Ridwan Kamil as quoted by Tempo.co from the Antara news site today, Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Furthermore, Ridwan Kamil appealed to the people of West Java to be obedient in paying vehicle taxes. Because according to him, vehicle owners will get great benefits if they obey paying taxes.

"So the media please appeal to the people of West Java, all development funds come from taxes, especially road infrastructure, bridges, flyovers, it is financed from motor vehicle taxes," he explained.
