10 ASEAN Para-swimmers Quarantined after Testing Positive for Covid
2 August 2022 11:19 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Ten para-swimmers who will compete in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games are quarantined as they tested positive for Covid-19. They are now quarantined at the Health Training Center of Semarang City.
The Semarang City Health Office chief, Dr. M Abdul Hakam, said on Monday that the athletes' swab antigen test results came out positive. The ten athletes, Hakam said, are asymptomatic.
Hakam did not reveal the names of the athletes and which countries they represent, only saying that they came from several nations.
Health protocol mandates ASEAN Para Games athletes to be Covid negative before they can compete. "After waiting five days and testing negative they can resume their activities," Hakam said.
Hakam added that the Semarang City Health Office also continues to monitor athletes' health conditions by sending teams to the para-swimming arena.
