TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Information Ministry (Kominfo) decided to give five more days for private electronic systems providers (PSE) to register their platforms, extending the registration deadline to July 27, 2022. The ministry had sent an official letter to unregistered PSE.
"We are sending a warning letter to those who have not made the registration by the set deadline, asking them to immediately complete it within five working days," said the ministry's director general for applications and informatics Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan in a written statement quoted on Friday, July 21, 2022.
Kominfo is determined to temporarily terminate access to the platform if they do not provide any response. "The letter is being prepared to be sent to those who have not yet registered. The warning letter aims at urging them to complete the registration soon. Otherwise, the process of access termination will continue," Semuel added.
As of Thursday, July 21, 2022, Kominfo noted that PSE that have not yet registered include Opera, LinkedIn, PayPal, Amazon.com, Alibaba.com, Yahoo, Bing, Roblox, Steam, Epic Game, Battle.net, Origin, Counter-Strike, Dota, and Global Offensive.
"Google just sent the data before we held the press conference. They have registered four platforms, namely YouTube, Search Engine, Playstore, and Google Maps," he confirmed.
Semuel further mentioned that 8,276 private PSE have made the registration, consisting of 8,069 domestic PSE and 207 foreign PSE.
