Jakarta Deputy Gov Publicly Supports Prabowo's Presidential Candidacy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria publicly voiced his support for Prabowo Subianto to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 general elections.
Riza, who is a cadre of the Gerindra party and the chairperson of the party’s Jakarta executive board (DPD), said Prabowo had contributed to advancing the party over the past 14 years.
“As cadres, we are very happy and proud and support all of his policies, including him to become president from 2024 to 2029,” said Riza at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday night, July 20, 2022.
Riza's political stance is absolutely not in line with Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who is included in the presidential candidate exchange in the upcoming presidential election. Although he has not officially declared running for president, Anies has received a lot of support from various parties.
Anies Baswedan is among the top list of presidential candidates supported by the Nasdem Party. A number of volunteers have also been established to support Anies. Additionally, many surveys revealed that the Jakarta Governor’s electability rate remained in the top three, competing with Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo.
