TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) in a press conference on Monday evening announced that one of its T-50i Golden Eagle aircraft had crashed in the Blora sub regency in Central Java.
Iswahjudi air base spokesperson captain Sus Yudha Pramono, citing Antaranews, said a rescue team had already been mobilized to the location of the accident. The jet from the air base’s Air Squadron 15 in Magetan was piloted by one person.
“A team from the Iswahjudi air base has been mobilized tonight to the location to conduct evacuation,” he said on July 18.
The aircraft reportedly fell from the sky during a night tactical intercept training and was piloted by lieutenant Allan Safitra Indera.
The aircraft with tail number TT-5009 was recorded as taking off from the Iswahjudi Magetan Air Base at 18.24 WIB to conduct night flight training. Then at 19.25 WIB, the pilot was still in contact with the "flight director", but after that, the plane was unable to be contacted.
Information in the field, from regional officials and the people of Nginggil Village, Kradenan District, Blora, Central Java, confirmed the presence of metal fragments suspected to be the location where the T-50i Golden Eagle crashed.
