President Jokowi Departs for Abu Dhabi after Meeting Putin

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi left for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, June 30, 2022, after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
According to the Presidential Secretariat’s statement, the Indonesian President and the entourage took off at around 20:15 local time boarding Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft from Vnukovo II Airport, Moscow.
Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, Jokowi was scheduled to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan today, July 1, 2022.
The two leaders would discuss the interest of the United Arab Emirates to invest in Indonesia’s new capital city or IKN Nusantara mega project. Last March, the delegation of the UAE government met Jokowi at the Bogor Palace.
During the visit, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana were accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
