TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government has officially revoked the business permits of 12 Holywings outlets in the capital following the findings of a number of violations, according to Head of the Investment and One-Stop Service Office Benny Agus Chandra on Monday.
“The agency has revoked the permits of 12 Holywings outlets in Jakarta under current regulations,” said Agus on June 27.
The outlets of the nightlife establishment that face possible closure are the ones located in North Tanjung Duren, Kalideres, West Kelapa Gading, Tiger, Dragon, PIK, Reserve Senayan, Epicentrum, Mega Kuningan, Garison, Gunawarman, and Vandetta Gatsu.
Holywings reportedly violates alcohol sales rules
The Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Andhika Permata, explained that several Holywings cafes have not been proven to have a standard certificate of KBLI 56301 for bar businesses that have been verified.
This was discovered after research and examination of the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS RBA) licensing documents and field monitoring were carried out.
However, the Head of DKI PPK-UKM Office, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, explained that alcoholic beverages should not be consumed at Holywings cafe, but only taken home. From the field review, there are still outlets that sell alcohol for drinking on the spot.
Holywings came under the nation’s spotlight after it controversially issued a promotional campaign offering free liquors for consumers with the names Muhammad and Maria. This move sparked public outcry and saw a number of employees facing jail time.
