Tangerang City Reinstates Isolation Facility as Covid-19 Cases Rise

23 June 2022 13:43 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Tangerang City administration has reinstated the 40-bed Manis Jaya concentrated isolation house (RIT) that can be used to accommodate Covid-19 patients referred from 38 community health centers (Puskesmas) in the area.

The Head of Tangerang City’s health agency head Dini Anggraeni on Thursday said the series of loosened health restrictions had been followed by an increase in the number of cases. She urgently called for people to remain disciplined and reduce mobility for non-urgent events.

“We hope everyone can take the role to look out for the health of themselves, families, and neighbors so that Covid-19 cases can remain under control and we can live healthily alongside it,” said Dini on Thursday, June 23.

For the past few days, Tangerang City logged an increase of cases from single digit to double digit numbers. The highest took place on Tuesday after confirming 46 new cases amid the spread of Omicron’s subvariants; BA.4 and BA.5.

Their vaccination rate has reached 1,635,595 people for first vaccine doses, 1,319,202 for second vaccine doses, and 634,461 for booster shots.
