TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manuara Siahaan, a member of the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission B, on Tuesday said that regionally-owned developer JakPro will be summoned to be questioned about the additional Rp90.7 billion commitment fee for hosting the Formula E race in the capital city.
The PDIP politician said legislators were rather concerned about the information suggesting JakPro had not paid the complete amount of the commitment fee as they are only aware of the Rp560 billion that was already paid to Formula E organizers.
“It’s not too urgent as [JakPro] claims they are auditing the income from [hosting the race],” said the politician at the Jakarta DPRD headquarters on June 21. “We don’t feel they lied as at the time we did not ask this.”
He believes such large payments should be informed earlier and quipped the transparency of the city-owned developer. “That is a huge amount of money that 5 million pounds sterling. That is what we were not informed of. This is why we will hold a meeting again with them,” said Manuara who understands JakPro was tasked to organize the event with a business-to-business model.
With this information that came to light, the Rp560 billion commitment fee is sourced from Jakarta’s regional budget (APBD) while the unpaid sum comes from a B-to-B model of payment.
