TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi received an invitation from Germany to participate in the G7 Summit in Elmau on June 26-27, 2022. Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi confirmed Widodo’s attendance.
During the ministry’s press conference held virtually today, June 22, Retno said that one of the issues to be discussed at the economic forum of the Group of Seven is related to food.
Holding the G7 presidency, Germany also invited other G7 partner countries, including India, Senegal, Argentina, and South Africa.
However, the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s spokesperson Teuku Faizasyah stopped short of detailing what theme to be presented by the President. Yet he did not deny that the food issue will be one of Indonesia's main concerns.
“Food issue has indeed become one of Indonesia's priorities, which is also in line with the President's role as a member of the UN Champions Group,” Faizasyah told Tempo via a short message.
