TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Supplies for the Samota-Sumbawa Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP), such as motorbikes and racing equipment, began to arrive at Lombok International Airport, Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, on Saturday.

The race will be held from June 24–26, 2022.

"The logistics for the race were carried by using three flights," Rahmat Adil Indrawan, general manager of state-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, which runs Lombok International Airport, said here on Saturday.

The first and second cargo loads arrived at Lombok Airport at 4 p.m. Central Indonesian Standard Time (WITA, UTC+8) and 5:30 p.m. WITA on Saturday, respectively.

Meanwhile, the third shipment is expected to arrive at 8 a.m. WITA on Sunday (June 19).

"The total logistics for the race will consist of 54 pallets, weighing 30 tons. On the first flight, there were nine pallets, weighing 14 tons. The logistics comprises motorbikes and other racing vehicle equipment," the official informed.

After arriving at Lombok International Airport, the supplies will be transported on 10 trucks via land and sea to Sumbawa Island, the venue for the racing event.

Meanwhile, MXGP riders and crew are scheduled to arrive on June 23 on a charter flight from Lombok International Airport to Sumbawa Airport.

"The total number of them is 190 people," Indrawan informed.

Earlier, Field Commander for the Samota-Sumbawa MXGP Ridwansyah informed that the circuit has 18 turns and 11 obstacles. The total length of the track is 1.8 kilometers.

The MXGP Samota circuit offers hilly contours and beautiful views of Flores Sea on the north as well as Moyo Island on the east.

Daily pass tickets can be purchased online on tiket.com. Ticket prices start from Rp100,000 (US$6.75) for the festival class to Rp2.5 million (US$168.75) for the sky box facility of the premium class.

To enter the venue, spectators will need to exchange their tickets for wristbands.

"The exchange is scheduled (to be held) on June 22–26, 2022, at the Mampis Rungan Sports Hall, Sumbawa Besar Sub-district, Sumbawa District," Ridwansyah said.
