Jakarta Metro Police Chief Inaugurate 28 Female Officers as Police Chiefs

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Metro Police Chief Inspector General Muhammad Fadil Imran appointed 28 officers as Sectoral Police Chiefs in his jurisdiction on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Eight of them are female officers.

Fadil mentioned in his speech that most of the crime perpetrators were children so policewomen are considered to be powerful to deal with issues in the regions.

"In my opinion, their nature of being a mother and their role as a woman will be a strong arm in solving public security and order issues, especially involving children," said Fadil as quoted from Antara on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

He pinned hopes that the female police chiefs will protect the community through preventive measures, rather than only prosecution.

"I believe that policewoman is more capable of distinguishing between social diseases, juvenile delinquency, and criminal groups. With the soul of a guardian as a mother, I think you have a clearer and sharper mind [about this]," he said in front of the new police chiefs.

Fadil also expected that the eight policewomen could handle cases of crimes against women by instilling a more humane approach. "Women have high sensitivity, women have a high anti-violence spirit. Women are more sensitive to violence and sexual crimes. Women are more capable and sharper in taking soft steps," he added.

The eight female police officers who were inaugurated as Sectoral Police Chiefs are:

  1. Adj. Comr. Syabillah Putri Ramadhani as the Cisauk Sectoral Police Chief
  2. Comr. Netty Rosdiana Siagian as Menteng Sectoral Police Chief
  3. Comr. Siti Fatimah Said Martandu as Cimanggis Sectoral Police Chief
  4. Comr. Syarifah Chaira Sukma as Cakung Sectoral Police Chief
  5. Comr. Ratna Quratul Aini as Penjaringan Sectoral Police Chief
  6. Comr. Jun Nurhaida Tampubolon as Cinere Sectoral Police Chief
  7. Comr. Riza Sativa as Sunda Kelapa Sectoral Police Chief
  8. First Inspector Tamar Bekti Widiasih Jalmi as Tajur Halang Sectoral Police Chief
