Miyabi's Rumored Dinner Plan in Jakarta Sparks Criticism

19 May 2022 18:02 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD), Syarif, on Thursday has called for the Jakarta provincial government to review the dinner plan by adult entertainment star and model Maria Ozawa or Miyabi. Syarif fears such an event will only stir controversy.

The Japanese model has revealed plans to hold a gala dinner with 50 of her fans in Jakarta. Rumors about this event spread across social platforms

“I ask the Jakarta provincial government to review this issue in length. What good would it be if it only causes controversy,” said Syarif on May 19, Antaranews reported.

The Gerindra Party politician asserted that he is not in the position to reject Miyabi's arrival in the city as it can potentially boost Jakarta’s creative economy. However, he proposed it to be canceled.

Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy’s Iffan said on May 18 that his office has not received any request from organizers of the event. He explains that the Tourism office has its internal assessment committee that oversees entertainment and sports activities, which also assesses guests of the city based on certain criteria.

“Most important is that they must conform to our customs,” said Iffan.
