TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina guarantees the availability and distribution of fuel for the Eid homecoming or mudik return period. Pertamina's director of logistics and infrastructure, Mulyono, said the public has no need to worry about running out of fuel.
Mulyono said that distributors on mudik routes were checked for preparations to anticipate the return traffic.
"Field workers and those at gas stations in mudik routes across Java Island are ready," he said in a written statement, Thursday, May 5, 2022.
The company also implements a policy to ensure there is at least 80 percent fuel available at gas stations. Pertamina also prepared 154 fuel tank cars on standby.
Pertamina ensured that more than 7,000 gas stations have safe fuel stocks, including 1,370 stations in potential route areas (toll roads, tourist routes, logistics routes) that operate 24 hours. Mulyono also said that more than 48,000 LPG agents and outlets were on standby 24 hours, specifically in areas with high demand during Ramadan and Eid.
"Not only for land transportation modes but also for sea and air transportation; we made sure there is sufficient fuel," he said.
