SEA Games 2022, Indonesian Soccer and Rowing Team Depart for VIetnam

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national team for soccer and rowing have been officially sent off as they depart to compete in the 2022 SEA Games in Vietnam on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

The soccer event will begin on May 6, 2022, while the rowing event will begin on May 9, 2022. Both the sports branches will begin the competition before the opening ceremony that will be held on May 12, 2022.

"Today we sent off the first group to Vietnam, there were two groups in the first departure, namely the advance team from rowing with 40 people, the soccer team with 20 people, 8 officials, and 10 extra officials," Ferry said after sending of the athletes.

Ferry added that the conditions of the athlete are fit and are ready to compete. Ferry also confirmed that Indonesia's Chef de Mission team is ready to handle the athletes' needs in Vietnam.

"The two sports branches arrived in Vietnam and they can be immediately handled by the Chef de Mission team on location so we can ensure that they will receive the best services from the CdM team," Ferry said.

The Manager of the Indonesian National Team for SEA Games Uden Kusuma Wijaya stated that his team is in good condition. Coach Shin Tae-Yong, according to Uden, will immediately schedule practice sessions as they arrive in Vietnam.

"The boys are in good condition and we also continue to motivate them. We will take on even the smallest opportunity during the SEA Games," Uden said.

The Indonesian contingent for the SEA Games 2022 in Vietnam consists of 499 athletes who will participate in 32 out of 40 sports branch. The Indonesian contingent received additional athletes for the men's indoor soccer (14 people), cycling (6 people), and swimming (1 people).
