Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah speaks to audience in the commemoration of May Day 2022.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said the government was continuing to strive for economic recovery, among them by pushing for the stability of national economic recovery in the social, economic, and political dynamics of the globe.

“The government is pushing for programs that aim at alleviating the burden on businesses and workers,” she said during the commemoration of May Day this year, which was themed the May Day Ketupat (rice cones), in Surabaya, East Java, May 1, 2022.

Ida said her ministry was still preparing the policy instruments for the sound implementation of the government’s wage subsidy aid (BSU). “I ask for prayers and support from all of you so that this program can proceed without a hitch and deliver substantial impact to workers and the national economy,” she said.

She added May Day should become a momentum to cement solidarity and synergy between workers and the government. She also highlighted that this year’s May Day was special as it coincided with Eid al-Fitr.

“Thank God, the commemoration of May Day is getting even livelier by the year. I call on businessmen to provide support for workers to commemorate May Day with positive activities.
