Pertamina Cilacap Uses SCC to Optimize Production Ahead of Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil refinery PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) is operating a strategic command center (SCC) at the company’s Refinery Unit IV Cilacap to optimize operations and production ahead of 2022 Eid al-Fitr.
The SCC is being used to supervise the condition of the refinery, both during the operation and maintenance period, acting general manager of PT KPI of Refinery Unit IV Cilacap, Arief Budiyanto, said in a statement received on Saturday.
“The facility also serves as an attempt to digitize various business aspects at PT Pertamina to expedite the decision-making process," he added.
Through the SCC, the management can closely monitor all activities and problems at the refinery; thus, the facility can help the management to easily find solutions to the problems, he noted.
The SCC has several monitors, consisting of value creation and value protection monitors, which display the dashboard showing the refinery’s business process, he informed.
"The value creation monitor is the main dashboard consisting of a financial dashboard, an oil flow dashboard, a process and quality dashboard, as well as a competency dashboard," the acting general manager informed.
Meanwhile, the value protection monitor shows the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) dashboard, reliability dashboard, as well as maintenance dashboard, he said.
The facility has also strengthened the monitoring of the production capacity of the refinery, especially of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Budiyanto added.
Thus, the availability of the products can be monitored properly to ensure smooth distribution to the fuel terminal ahead of the Eid al-Fitr—when public energy consumption is predicted to surge.
PT KPI is a sub-holding of state-run oil company PT Pertamina in the refinery and petrochemical sector.
The Refinery Unit IV Cilacap in Cilacap district, Central Java province, is the largest and most strategic refinery owned by PT KPI, with a production capacity of 348 thousand barrels per day. It supplies 33 percent of the national fuel needs and fulfills 60 percent of fuel demand on Java Island.
