TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An epidemiologist with the University of Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), dr. Yudhi Wibowo, reminded the public of the importance of health protocol during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming (mudik) trips to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
"Don't let the mudik euphoria make the people forget that we're still in the pandemic situation, so maintaining the health protocol is still our collective concern," he said.
The lecturer at Unsoed Medical Faculty added that the public must still wear masks, maintain physical distance, and wash hands or use sanitizer regularly. In addition, get vaccinated until the third Covid vaccine dose or booster.
Yudhi reminded the people to keep a healthy diet and maintain sleep patterns to keep body endurance and stamina during the Eid holiday period.
The epidemiologist hopes that through the strict health protocol, vaccination, and healthy lifestyle, there will be no surge of Covid-19 cases after Eid al-Fitr.
"That means, the active role of the entire community to prevent the surge of Covid-19 (cases) after the Eid holidays is needed. This is done by strengthening health protocol campaign, vaccination, as well as a clean and healthy lifestyle," he said.
