Citilink Opens New Routes amid Eid al-Fitr Peak Season

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Citilink opened two new routes, Surabaya-Sumenep (round trip) and Balikpapan-Tarakan (round trip), which start the operations on Friday, April 29.
“The new routes are Citilink's commitment in improving the transportation accessibility, especially the air transportation so the public can travel in a shorter time and more efficiently," said the LCC president director Dewa Kadek Rai in Tangerang in a written statement on Friday, April 29.
Dewa added that the opening of the new routes, which coincide with the 2022 Eid al-Fitr peak season, is hoped to be able to accommodate the people's needs, especially those who travel to their hometowns (mudik) to celebrate the Eid holidays.
The Surabaya – Sumenep round trip flight will operate on Friday and Sunday, while Balikpapan – Tarakan flight will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The following is the schedule:
Surabaya – Sumenep flight QG 1504: Depart at 09:45 and Arrive at 10:35.
Sumenep – Surabaya flight QG 1505: Depart at 11:00 and Arrive at 11:45.
Balikpapan – Tarakan flight QG 1400: Depart at 11: 00 and Arrive at 12:35.
Tarakan – Balikpapan flight QG 1401: Depart at 13:00 and Arrive at 14:45.
Dewa said that Citilink always implements the strict health protocol in all flights and operations, be it pre-flight, in-flight, or post-flight by adhering to the health protocol set by the Indonesian government. "So the people can experience a safety and healthy mudik travel," he remarked.
