Ade Yasin Says Bribing BPK was Her Subordinate's Initiative

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin claimed she had never ordered her subordinates to bribe the West Java Representative of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) officials and that the illicit act was her subordinates’ initiative.

“It was their initiatives that led to disaster,” said Ade in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building, Thursday, April 28.

She added that as a leader, she would take the responsibility for the actions of her subordinates.

The anti-graft body named four suspects as bribers, namely Bogor Regent, Secretary of Bogor PUPR Agency Maulana Adam (MA), Head of Bogor Regional Treasury Ihsan Ayatullah (IA), and the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of Bogor PUPR Agency Rizki Taufik (RT).

The other four suspects who received bribes were employees of the West Java BPK. They were head of West Java BPK’s Audit Unit or technical controller Anthon Merdiansyah (ATM), head of the Bogor Interim Audit Team Arko Mulawan (AM), auditor Hendra Nur Rahmatullah Karwita (HNRK), and auditor Gerri Ginajar Trie Rahmatullah (GGTR).

KPK explained that Ade and Bogor officials allegedly committed bribery to earn an unqualified opinion (WTP) from West Java BPK for the region’s 2021 financial report.

Additionally, KPK suspected that during the audit process, Ade Yasin gave money to the audit team several times via IA and MA in the form of a monthly fund worth Rp10 million to a total of Rp1.9 billion.
