Bogor Regent Ade Yasin Named Suspect for Bribing BPK Officials: KPK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Bogor Regent Ade Yasin and seven other people as suspects on Thursday, April 28, after being caught red-handed for practicing corruption. Ade allegedly bribed the West Java Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) officials to get an unqualified opinion (WTP) for the region’s 2021 financial report.
“Bogor Regent via her trusted person gave money to members of West Java BPK’s audit team,” said the KPK chairman Firli Bahuri in the KPK Merah Putih building, in the early hours of Thursday, April 28.
Four BPK employees were arrested at their respective residences in Bandung on Tuesday, April 26 and were immediately taken to the KPK building in Jakarta. On Wednesday, April 27, the KPK nabbed Bogor Regent and Bogor administration officials at their homes in Cibinong.
During the sting operation, the KPK seized Rp570 million in cash and Rp454 million in bank accounts.
Four suspects giving the bribe were Bogor Regent Ade Yasin, Secretary of Bogor PUPR Agency who was identified as MA, Head of Bogor Treasury IA, and the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of Bogor PUPR Agency RT.
They were charged with Article 5 paragraph (1 a or b) or Article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning corruption eradication as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on the amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on corruption eradication in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
