Govt Allots Rp264 Billion for Roadworks in New Capital

19 April 2022 14:55 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Public Works and Housing or PUPR Ministry allocated a budget of approximately Rp264 billion to repair roads access to the new capital or IKN Nusantara in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.

“The central government is preserving the road to IKN Nusantara from North Penajam Paser Regency with a budget of around Rp264 billion this year (2022),” said North Penajam Paser Regency official Nicko Herlambang in Penajam, Tuesday, April 19.

The PUPR Ministry's road revamp projects include the ITCI intersection road heading to Riko intersection segment I with a budget of around Rp85.3 billion, the ITCI intersection heading to Riko intersection segment II with a budget totaling Rp87.9 billion, and the Riko intersection heading to Balang Island Bridge with a budget of approximately Rp91 billion.

It is hoped that the access road from North Penajam Paser Regency to the new state capital will be completed and can be operational by next year or 2023.

“With the road repairs, it is expected that the damaged road in Riko Village to IKN and the Balang Island Bridge can be completed and enjoyed by the community,” Nicko added.

According to him, the East Kalimantan Road Implementation Center (BPJN) had made a deal on the roadworks project to support the access to the new capital of IKN Nusantara.
