TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas announced the official cost for the 2022 Hajj pilgrimage (Bipih), which will be set at IDR 39,886,009 per person. Minister Yaqut announce the cost during a meeting with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR)
"We agreed to the average cost of Hajj (BPIH) 2022 for each pilgrim's trip on a regular package with be IDR 81,747.844, while the cost that will be covered by the pilgrim themselves will be IDR 39,886,009," said Yaqut on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
This amount is higher than the cost of Hajj pilgrimage in 2020, which was set at IDR 35 million with no additional costs for the pilgrims. At the time, additional costs were covered by pilgrims who have virtual accounts managed by Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
The Hajj pilgrimage cost is calculated by assuming Indonesia's quota for the 2022 hajj season, which is set at 110,500 pilgrims. The number is only half of the quota in 2019. The quota is divided into two groups, 101,660 for regular hajj pilgrims and 8,840 for special hajj pilgrims.
The Hajj pilgrimage has been resumed in 2022 after the Saudi Arabian government previously restricted tourist visits due to Covid-19 in the past two years.
