KPK to Summon Andi Arief in Penajam Paser Utara Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again summoned Democrat Party politician Andi Arief for questioning in its investigation of the corruption case involving inactive Penajam Paser Utara Regent Abdul Gafur on Monday, April 11.
Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said Andi will be questioned as a witness for Abdul Gafur. “It is true that the KPK investigators have again summoned Andi Arief to be present as a witness in the case,” said Ali, Tuesday, April 5.
Andi was previously summoned on March 28 and failed to meet it as he claimed to never received the letter. After the second summons, he said via his Twitter account that he would come.
In this case, the KPK named Abdul Gafur as a suspect in the bribery case for projects and permits at the Penajam Paser Utara Regency Government. Gafur and five other people were caught in a sting operation launched on Wednesday, December 12, 2021. The KPK suspected that the Democrat Party politician received bribes related to projects in Penajam Paser Utara.
The other five suspects are Achmad Zuhdi alias Yudi who is a private party, the acting Regional Secretary of Penajam Paser Utara Muliadi, Head of PUTR Penajam Paser Utara Edi Hasmoro, Head of Education, Youth, and Sports Office Jusman, and Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democrat Party Nur Afifah Balqis.
