Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Shakes Bali

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali today, April 9, was hit by a magnitude 4.6 earthquake at 16:41 Western Indonesia Time. The quake was centered at the sea, 48 kilometers southeast of Jembrana. The strongest shaking was recorded at level IV of MMI scale in Badung area.
"The tremor was felt in Kuta," said a Twitter account, @HendraAlvaro, at @infoBMKG account. Several other in Kuta shared the same statement. Kuta is located in Badung Regency, Bali.
The meteorology agency, BMKG, stated that the center of the quake was at the depth of 82 kilometers. Other regions on the island also felt the shaking, but weaker than that in Badung. They are Jembrana at level III MMI scale, as well as Denpasar, Karangasem, Tabanan, Gianyar and Mataram, that felt the shaking at level II of MMI scale.
