TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police in tandem with the Jakarta provincial government and other local governments opened hundreds of COVID-19 booster vaccination centers during Ramadan starting today, April 4.
According to Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Muhammad Fadil Imran, each of the total 266 vaccination sites is managed by the capital's sector and resort police stations. The police eyed to administer 143,000 doses per day.
Information related to the vaccination sites will also be available on Google Maps to ease access for the public. “I have ordered the public relations unit to make the locations findable via Google Maps,” said Fadli in a statement, Monday.
Thus, he added, people could choose nearby vaccination outlets and hopefully there will be no queues. “So they can perform fasting smoothly and celebrate Eid and meet their families in a healthy state.”
The Jakarta Police also opened a vaccination site at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, Central Jakarta, and provided light snacks to break the fast or known as takjil for people who will get the additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the evening.
“So no need to worry if people want to come [and get the booster vaccine] at 6 p.m., we will provide iftar snacks here,” Fadli said.
