TEMPO.CO, Hanoi - The ninth edition of the Vietnam International Travel Mart, the leading annual tourism trade show in Vietnam, is taking place in Hanoi from Thursday to Sunday after two years of disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the theme of "New normal - New opportunities," the trade fair is one of the important events for resuming business activities, connecting partners to restore and develop tourism across the country, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said at the opening ceremony.
It took place two weeks after Vietnam's move to fully reopen borders for international visitors on March 15.
The event has gathered more than 500 businesses from 52 Vietnamese localities, and countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey to showcase their products, said its organizers.
To stimulate customers' demand, over 10,000 promotional tours, 100,000 flight tickets, and more than 1,000 gifts are expected to be offered at the trade fair.
