TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin in a statement on Wednesday decried Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intention to be present at the G20 Summit in Bali at the end of this year. The Ukraine envoy insists that the Russian leader’s presence in any international event is an insult towards democracy.
“Boycott Russia and Putin in all possible meetings, international platforms, and high-level conferences. This will be a real step to end the situation in Ukraine. For the sake of peace, stability and development of every country on Earth, which has existed since (the end of) World War II," in his statement Tempo received on March 23.
He believes that the Putin administration is directly responsible for all the atrocities committed in Ukraine and is committing crimes against humanity.
Previous reports suggest that the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobieva said the Russian government has received an invitation for the G20 Summit in Bali scheduled for October. Vorobieva said that Putin intends to attend the international summit, but will mainly depend on the situation at the time.
